Widikum, Cameroon, 2016
This photo was taken on 28th August 2016 in Widikum after the Sunday service, a moment that brings the people together outside the church for interactions and small chats. The community in Widikum is strong, and young people grow up in an environment characterised by collective values and mutual support. However, they face significant challenges: limited economic opportunities, restricted access to higher education, and the impact of the ongoing conflict in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon. The so-called Anglophone Crisis, a conflict between the English-speaking regions and the central government, has profoundly affected the lives of many in the region. Young people are often confronted with uncertainty and limited prospects for the future. Despite these challenges, their pursuit of a better future remains unbroken.
