This morning, the traditional Way of the Cross began at 6 a.m. at the parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Mfundi-a-si. The Catholic Christians carried a wooden cross and a loudspeaker system, following the path through trails and one of the busiest main roads in the capital, which directs traffic to the west of Cameroon. Good Friday is a public holiday in Cameroon, but today, unlike in previous years, many shops are open despite this commemoration of Christ's Passion, and people are out early as usual.
Good Friday
On Good Friday, I took my camera to the streets of Yaoundé to photograph the annual Stations of the Cross, an important event in which many Christians participate.
